Recycling Design & Technologies (RDT) Engineering is a leading Australian company specialising in design and construction of recycling facilities across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Since 2004, RDT has been supporting the Waste and Recycling Industry, integrating world leading technologies and equipment into tailored local solutions. In that time, RDT has rapidly grown our team of engineers, design drafters and project managers to deliver over 70 turnkey waste and recycling projects. Our clients include top tier national waste companies, local recycling companies as well as local and regional councils around Australia.

Our History
‍
In 2016 RDT became part of Re.Group, a private Australian company focused on providing high quality resource recovery solutions. Re.Group invests in and operates a number of Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) around Australia and an organics processing facility in NSW, as well as being a key provider of container refund facilities in several states. RDT provides engineering support and solutions for Re.Group projects, as well as working with a diverse range of external customers. The connection to Re.Group ensures that RDT has a unique understanding of Australian operating conditions, and the ability to deliver all clients practical solutions that work on the ground.
What we do

RDT Engineering recently designed and commissioned Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in Cairns, Southern Adelaide, Hamilton (NZ) and Timaru (NZ). Our recently completed Southern Materials Recovery Facility in Adelaide is considered Australia’s smartest MRF. We have also recently developed a central container sorting process in Sydney and a construction and demolition waste recycling plant in South East Queensland. We supported the development of the Shellharbour Food and Garden Organics in-vessel composting plant and recently oversaw its expansion. See our projects here.

Matt Wright
General Manager
Matt Wright has a range of experience over the last 15 years, having held a number of leadership roles in different industrial sectors. Matt leads the RDT team in delivering tailored engineering solutions to local councils and private businesses across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Dominic Schliebs
Commercial Manager
Dominic coordinates RDT's team of specialists to create innovative design and technology for recycling and resource recovery facilities. He has more than 20 years of industry experience, spanning engineering and project delivery, as well as strategic advisory consulting to the waste sector.
Stuart Garbutt
Project Manager
Stuart founded RDT Engineering in 2004 and has been involved in the Recycling Industry for over 25 years, working on projects and in industry groups throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom. As a Director of RDT and Re.Group he plays a key role in guiding the company's success.
Glenn Byrne
Design Manager
Glenn was a founding member of the RDT team and has played a role in designing and developing over 70 turnkey projects. Glenn draws from experience in MRF design, Glass processing, MSW, Scrap and C&D waste streams and works closely with customers to deliver a solution.
Steven Thompson
Group Project Manager
Steven is responsible for managing major projects delivered by RDT. He is a Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years experience in the manufacturing and recycling sectors.
Juan Rivero
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Juan has been a mechanical engineer with RDT for more than a decade. His experience includes a range of roles spanning design, project control, implementation, support and maintenance, and facility optimisation. At RDT he plays a key role in design, procurement, quality control and commissioning.
Allard Bernhofen
Business Development Officer
Allard has over 10 years of experience in the waste industry, supporting RDT and Re.Group. He draws on his 25 years of experience in the sales industry to nurture RDT's important stakeholder relationships.
Mark Mundy
Senior Mechanical Designer
Mark has over 20 years of experience in mechanical design drafting including working across design, project management, maintenance and support. Mark leads a team of design drafters to deliver detailed designs for RDT's industry-leading technology.
